Terms of Service
Effective October 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Usual mobile app and the website at tryusual.app (together, “Usual” or the “Service”). Usual is operated by Nour Hany (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Usual, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Usual.
1. What Usual is
Usual is a personal dish journal. It lets you log dishes you’ve ordered at restaurants, rate them, add photos and notes, mark your go-to dish (“My usual”), organise places into lists, follow other people, discover what others order, and share dishes, lists and your profile by link.
2. Who can use Usual
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to the use of online services, whichever is higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Usual with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.
3. Your account
You can sign in with Apple, Google or your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at nourhany824@outlook.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Usernames must not impersonate other people or brands, be misleading, or infringe anyone’s rights. We may reclaim or change a username that breaks these rules.
4. Your content
“Your content” means the dishes, ratings, notes, photos, lists, profile details and anything else you add to Usual. You keep ownership of your content.
So that we can run the Service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize and display your content solely to operate, improve and provide Usual to you and to the people you choose to share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where it has already been shared by others or where we must keep it by law.
You control who sees each dish:
- Private — visible only to you.
- Link only — visible to anyone who has the share link, but not listed on your profile.
- Public — shown on your public profile and may appear in Discover.
Public lists and your public profile (name, username, photo and bio) can be viewed by anyone with the link, including people without an account. Anyone you share a link with can pass it on, so only share what you are comfortable with others seeing.
You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to post it — for example, that photos are yours or you have permission to use them.
5. Acceptable use
When using Usual, you agree not to:
- post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent or defamatory;
- post false or misleading information intended to harm a restaurant, person or business;
- post personal information about others without their consent;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or business;
- post content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- spam, scrape, or access Usual through automated means other than our official apps and website;
- attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the security or usage limits of the Service;
- use Usual for any commercial advertising or promotion without our written permission.
We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules. To report content or a user, email nourhany824@outlook.com.
6. Restaurants, opinions and food safety
Ratings, notes and dishes on Usual are personal opinions of the people who posted them. Usual is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any restaurant listed in the app, and restaurant details (names, addresses) may be incomplete or out of date.
Do not rely on Usual for allergy, dietary, nutritional or food-safety information. Menus and recipes change. Always confirm ingredients and allergens directly with the restaurant.
7. Usual Pro and purchases
Usual is free to use with certain limits (for example, on the number of dishes you can log). Usual Pro is an optional paid upgrade that removes those limits. Current prices and plan details are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Founder’s Lifetime is a one-time, non-renewing purchase that unlocks Pro features for as long as Usual is offered.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through their stores.
- You can restore previous purchases on a new device from the app using “Restore purchases”.
We may change what is included in the free plan or in Pro. If we make a change that materially reduces what an active paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
8. Our intellectual property
Usual — including the app, website, design, name, logo and software — belongs to us and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Usual app for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify or redistribute Usual or use our name or logo without our permission. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Deleting your account and termination
You can stop using Usual at any time and delete your account from Settings in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, dishes, photos, lists and follows. This cannot be undone.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you would create legal risk for us. Where reasonable, we will tell you beforehand. We may also discontinue Usual entirely; if we do, we will give reasonable notice so you can stop using it.
10. Disclaimers
Usual is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that Usual will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will never be lost — please keep your own copies of anything important, such as photos.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Usual. Our total liability for any claim relating to Usual is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Usual in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Usual after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Egypt, unless the consumer laws of your country give you the right to bring a claim where you live.
14. Apple and Google
If you downloaded Usual from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Usual or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any product claims, intellectual-property claims, or claims that Usual fails to meet legal requirements. If Usual fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
If you downloaded Usual from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your use of the store.
